The Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) in Ontario enables easy registration for certain operations with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. These operations encompass entities like paint spray booths, printing shops, transportation of non-hazardous waste, small ground-mounted solar facilities, and facilities engaged in processing end-of-life vehicles.
For operations that are more complex or specialized, Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) are necessary. The ECA application involves multiple components, including an application form, facility particulars, an Emission Summary and Dispersion Modelling Report (ESDM), and noise assessments.
Within the Environmental Approvals procedure, the noise emissions of a facility undergo assessment. Utilizing the Ministry's noise screening method, a facility might qualify for exclusion ("screened out") if it meets specific criteria. However, if it fails the noise screening, an Acoustic Assessment Report (AAR) becomes necessary. This report examines the facility's noise levels in comparison to Environmental Noise Guidelines, predicting the anticipated noise levels at the nearest receptor, usually the nearby residential area. To secure an ECA, the predicted noise levels must align with the Guidelines. Should the facility surpass these levels, we suggest remedies to ensure compliance, such as installing noise barriers, adjusting equipment operations, or implementing noise control measures.
The pre/post Construction Inspection serves as a comprehensive photographic and visual documentation of the condition of each property, highlighting any cosmetic and structural defects. It encompasses observations regarding the settling of driveways, walkways, foundation walls, windows, roofs, and other structural elements.
We perform remote vibration monitoring and reporting to evaluate the impact of construction activities on nearby structures. Our reports detail the methodology, monitoring sites, measurement data, analysis of findings, and instances where vibration levels surpass predefined criteria.
We provide contract administration and on-site inspection services for both private and public projects. Our emphasis is on adhering to specifications, standards, and safety protocols to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects. We oversee the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction phases to the end of the maintenance period, to ensure successful outcomes.
We assess the noise emissions generated by operations to ensure compliance with regulations. The Acoustical Assessment reports provide a comprehensive overview of the facility's impact on the surrounding environment. These reports are a mandatory requirement for all facilities as part of Ontario's Environmental Approval process.
